► About the Customer
The client was a start-up company (NewCo) founded by a group of entrepreneurs in the Renewable Energy business. NewCo acquired assets, patents (IP), business papers, pilot plants and the archive of the insolvency administrator of one the largest industrial groups in Germany which went bankrupt in 2002.
► Situation (Challenge)
The client acquired the assets but had no specific idea how revive the business of this part (formerly a subsidiary) of the insolvent company. All employees had been sent home much earlier, so all activities in the market had been stopped for a while, when the acquisition was made.
► Solution (Achievement)
The client contracted our RENT-A-MANAGER Executive to elaborate the Business Plan for the next years and then appointed him as CEO to implement the plan and make it real. The executive started to hire people, both from the old staff, meanwhile in unemployment, and new people from the market. Activities were restarted and a first engineering contract incl. the delivery of proprietary equipment was negotiated and signed after only 7 month. The Executive was also in charge of Project management of this important contract.
The Executive went to all relevant technology conferences in China, the US, Europe and Australia and made people aware that this specific technology was back to the market. The company today has very large contracts in China and the US.
► Customer Feedback
The client sold the company in 2006 for a price which was 20 times the invested capital to a large German industrial corporation.[:]
